On May 13th, Sharon Rose Ann Branson, devoted mother of Chris, Audrey, and Terry, passed away at the age of 77. Sharon was predeceased by her husband, Norman Cecil “Skeet” Branson. She is survived by her three children, Norman “Christopher” Branson and his wife Rosemary, Audrey Richter and her husband Gary and Teresa Branson, and six grandchildren, William “Bill” Cockerham, Jordan “JT” Richter, Kira Cockerham, Nikol “Nikki” Branson, Natasha “Tasha” Branson, and Kelsey Richter. She is also survived by her brother James Kesterson, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Sharon was born in Baltimore, Maryland on November 9, 1943. She graduated from Sparrows Point High School in 1964 and married Norman C. Branson later that year on December 6th. She went on to become mother to three children. In the years following she became a 4-H leader, avid member of the American Poultry Association, and the brief owner of Something Fishy Tropical Fish and Pets. Sharon also was licensed as a Certified Professional Horticulturalist from the University of Maryland Extension Service and went on the work at Kurt Bluemel, Inc. in Baldwin, Maryland, as well as The Perennial Farm in Glen Arm, Maryland, where she was a key nursery staffer. In retirement, she was a plant and pet enthusiast, happiest tinkering in her gardens, raising her animals, and watching her fish.
No services will take place, as Sharon requested, but we do appreciate your love and support during this difficult time.
