Raymond John Vogel Jr.

August 7, 1943 ~ March 11, 2022 (age 78)

Obituary

Born in Baltimore , Maryland to Raymond John Vogel, Sr. and Virginia Jane Taylor Vogel. Ray went to Polytechnic and two years with the University of Baltimore . He was a active member of MYF(Methodist youth fellowship) in Gardenville and the Drum Major of the Baltimore Forest Junior Drum Corp. He started out in DeMolay. He became a mason in 1961 and was a member of Corithian lodge. He was an active member of Baltimore Forest Tall Cedars of Lebonan #45 from 1962 to date. Tall Cedars was where his heart was in the world of masonry.

 

Ray started his career at Sears, Roebuck and Co. on North Ave and continued with Sears until his retirement 30 years later. Ray than started a second career at The Grand Lodge of Maryland where he started out in maintenance and ended up being their ballroom coordinator. He retired from that job July 2021.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda. His daughter and son in law, Andrea and Greg Harthausen, with their three children Emily, Gregory and Mason. His son and daughter in law, Raymond John Vogel III and Jen Vogel with their two children Raymond John Vogel IV and Rexley.

Ray is also survived by many nieces and nephews, friends and extended family.

He was a wonderful man, husband, father, Pop Pop, uncle and friend. Honest and forthright. He loved his family and friends and will truly be missed by all.
