James Carl Callis

Obituary

On March 5, 2021, James Carl Callis, entered into the Kingdom of Heaven. Beloved son of the late Ethelyn (nee Maisel) Callis and James Cooney Callis II of Baltimore. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Christabel (nee Lea) Callis, daughters Dawn D. Snyder, Deborah A. Sugg, son-in-laws Tom Snyder, and Dan Sugg, and grandchildren Hailey Synder, Hunter Lea Sugg, Brandon Snyder, Ryan Snyder, and Bethany Rachel Sugg. 

Jim was a loving, dedicated husband and father, committed to his family and serving others. Born in Baltimore Maryland, he lived in Fallston for 55 years and worked at Baltimore Gas & Electric for 40 years. He served in the Jarrettsvile Lions Club for over 50 years and served in the Army during the Korean War. 

Jim’s smile and sense of humor brought joy to everyone that met him. In retirement, he spent time traveling with his wife and with his grandchildren who brought him immense joy.  Jim loved dogs and animals and would appreciate donations to the Fallston Animal Rescue Movement fallstonrescue@aol.com 2725 Fallston Road, MD 21047, 410-557-6161 or local shelter. 

Visitation is Monday March 8, 6-9pm at Fallston United Methodist Church, Tuesday visitation 12-1p, Funeral at 1pm and burial to follow at Highview Memorial Gardens. Many precautions have been taken for proper social distancing and masks are required.
