Chelsea DiAnn Wisener.
It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, niece and granddaughter, after a long battle with addiction.
Chelsea was born April 25,1989 at Henrico Women's Hospital in Richmond, VA. At the age of two she moved with her parents and sister to Bel Air, MD where she lived until her death. Surrounded by her loving family, Chelsea passed away peacefully at 8:40 PM August 22, 2021 at UMUCMC.
Chelsea had struggled with drugs eventually leading to opioids and most recently benzodiazepines, for half her life. She had been in MAP for the past 5 years and had success with ending her dependence on opioids, however, recently she believed the only way to quiet her crippling anxiety was with benzodiazepines and it did.
Chelsea had a happy childhood filled with vacations to Disney, islands, beaches and cruises. She had a quick wit and loved to make people laugh. Chelsea was a good friend, and loved all animals, she loved music, singing, dancing, gymnastics and performing. It all came to a halt on April 2nd, 2004 when her beloved sister and best friend Allison, took her own life, and with that polarizing event, Chelsea’s life slipped into an abyss which she would occasionally be able to pull herself back from and enjoy life. Her kind heart never left her, nor her willingness to help people and animals, but the sparkle in her eye was gone. She was a beautiful, kind, intelligent soul that fell into the grip of addiction. She was very open about her life, and shared her experience in an effort to help other people understand they were not alone. In her final act of giving, she donated her organs to help others have a better, healthier, productive life.
If love could save an addict, there would be no addiction, for she was loved fiercely.
Chelsea leaves behind to mourn her; parents Michael and Elizabeth Wisener, significant other, Greg Anderson, maternal grandmother S. DiAnn LaClair, Aunt Amy Bradley, Uncle's Peter LaClair, Daniel LaClair and John LaClair, Great Aunt Jonna Wurster, and numerous cousins and her much loved rescue dog, Molly. Chelsea was predeceased by her beloved sister Allison M. Wisener, paternal grandparents Aubrey and Margurete Wisener, maternal great grandmother Letty Wurster, and paternal great grandmother, Louise LaClair.
