Betty Jane Calary (née Price) of White Hall, Maryland passed away on July 9, 2021 at the age of 88. Born April 18, 1933 in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of Robert and Helen Price. Betty is survived by her daughter, Ann Nash and her husband, Larry; two grandchildren, Kevin Nash and his wife Autumn and Michele Zacierka and her husband Mike; four great grandchildren, Ashlyn, Sadie, Emalyn Meaghan, and Hunter; and her sisters Sally Barron and Barbara Provini. She is predeceased by her first husband, Wilson Hawkins; second husband, Arthur Calary; son, Jay Hawkins; granddaughter, Meaghan Nash; and brothers, Bobby and Nick Price.
Betty grew up in Sparks, Maryland at her family-owned business, Prices Store, where she worked for many years. She and husband, Wilson, both graduated from Sparks High School. She also worked at Birchams Store in Jarrettsville for 21 years, later retiring at age of 79 from the Hereford Pharmacy where she enjoyed helping customers in the gift shop and working with people she grew to love
Betty lived with her daughter Ann and her husband Larry at their 111 year old home that she and her husband Wilson bought in 1962. She enjoyed helping in the flower gardens and feeding the Koi fish in Meaghan’s garden. Betty had a great love for all animals. She enjoyed her welsh ponies and going to horse and pony shows with her family. She also loved her cats and could be seen often strolling around home with her cat Ella, riding on the seat of her walker. Betty was an amazing woman and, despite her many losses, was always smiling and a pleasure to be around. She will be deeply missed by her family.
